The second edition of Something Else – Off Biennale, which took place at Darb 1718, opened on 1 November to reveal part of what the highly anticipated, month-long event has in store.
A large crowd of artists and art enthusiasts were in attendance to view the visual art exhibition and the two performances that were ongoing through the evening.

Something Else at the Citadel

Something Else’s first-ever edition at the Citadel ran from November 23 - December 23, 2023. Featuring 22 curators and 171 artists, representing 42 different countries, this art exhibition at the Cairo Citadel was the first of its kind in Egypt. The exhibition theme was inspired by the poet W.B. Yeats, titled "What Then?" Yeats suggested that it was foolish to ever think that the work was done. The work is never done. On the contrary. It is a never-ending process of awareness and actions. There is always something else to be discovered, something else to be formulated, something else to be invented. Something Else III responded to the question posed by Yeats, "what then?" with "something else." Featuring the Chief Curator Simon Njami, Artistic Director Moataz Nasr, and guest of honor Ahmed Nawwar.
